ZORA's two private double cabins - each with their own heads, dressers, and cedar-lined lockers - ensure a comfortable stay aboard, whether you're cruising with children or friends, or simply enjoy a spacious yacht for two. Her salon settees (fitted with lee cloths) make good seaberths or could be extra berths for up to 2 additional guests (the shorter port settee has a small footwell to allow sleeping).
The forward head has a manual toilet to port with an opening, screened port and hatch, full standing headroom and a hot-and-cold water shower. Opposite is the vanity with plenty of storage. The two doors allow the area to be configured as a toilet stall, full head, or to create a private suite for the forward stateroom, with its double V-berth, dresser and cedar-lined hanging locker.
Just aft is the main salon, with UltraSuede cushions (new 2004) and a centerline drop-leaf table. Ample storage behind the seatbacks and outboard for all of your stores. The nav station is to starboard of the main companionway, with a custom electrical panel, 110-volt inverter, (all new 2004) radios, radar and chart storage. ZORA is equipped with paper charts from Cape Elizabeth to Penobscot Bay, as well as Maine and New England cruising guides. 120-volt (inverter) and 12-volt outlets at the nav will power your laptop computer, cell phone chargers, etc.
Through the starboard-side passageway, past the engine room, is the large aft master stateroom, also accessible through its own companionway to the cockpit. The queen-size berth has reading lights both fore and aft, allowing you to sleep in the most comfortable position. Built-in teak dressers and cedar lockers, bookshelves and side lockers hold an enormous amount of clothing and gear. There are three opening ports with screens, and an opening Bomar hatch. The oversized aft head has more storage, vanity, and manual head with holding tank. As with the rest of the boat, all plumbing is new 2004.
The interior is finished with fine varnished teak cabinetry and trim, much of it new 2004. White overhead and white cabin sides brighten the cabins, and medium-green UltraSuede and Sunbrella Furniture Series upholstery adds warmth. The cabin soles are teak and holly.
Galley
ZORA's U-shaped galley is a joy to cook in, with ample work space and and excellent task lighting. There is plenty of storage, including a custom dish and glassware cabinet. The galley is well-stocked with dishes, glasses and mugs, silverware and utensils, pots and pans and linens. An opening hatch and port provide ventilation, while multiple hand holds and guard rails ensure safety while cooking underway. Two large top-load refrigerator/freezer compartments (new 2004) have high-tech vacuum-panel insulation and a 2005 Fridgoboat system. The deep double stainless steel sink offers hot and cold pressure water as well as foot-pump salt water and a dedicated Seagull drinking water faucet. The 2004 Force 10 three burner propane stove w/oven and broiler provides plenty of cooking options, and there's always the propane barbecue on the aft rail for grilling your fresh lobster or mackerel!
Cockpit and Hull
Large comfortable cockpit with full-length seats and high, comfortable coamings. Stainless destroyer wheel with binnacle-mounted teak cockpit table and drink holder. Coaming lockers and cockpit shower (hot and cold). Sturdy dodger (new 2004) with two roll-up Strataglass windows and excellent visibility. Cockpit speakers for stereo, cockpit courtesy lights. Separate companionways into main cabin and aft cabin. Three Sport-A-Seat cushions (and throw cushions) add comfort in the cockpit or can be used on deck as chairs.
ZORA's fiberglass hull and external lead keel are safe and solid. Her long fin keel and skeg-hung rudder are great for cruising in Maine's waters, as the prop is protected in the skeg and therefore it's less likely to catch lobster pots!
Electrical
ZORA's electrical system is entirely new 2004, built to ABYC standards with top quality components from Ancor and Blue Sea Systems. 12 volt system with three 8D AGM batteries provides a huge capacity which was designed for offshore passagemaking and cruising "off the grid". 12 volt lighting throughout, including cockpit courtesy lights, foredeck light, new running lights at deck level as well as a masthead tricolor with emergency strobe; 12-volt automatic bilge pumps; 12-volt electric Lofrans windlass; Heart Link 10 battery monitor; 1000 watt inverter; solar panels; Ample Power Smart regulator and dual Amptech 125-amp alternators; dedicated start battery; new battery charger and shore-power system.
